Heart to Heart
Art Helps Heal is recognized by the United States Treasury IRS as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit whose mission it is to provide quality art materials and self-directed lessons, and project books along with a website for hospitalized teens.
Music was in the air for the 1st Annual Art Helps Heal Valentine event at Lurie Childrens Hospital.

Art Helps Heal executive board members Anne Hollenbeck, Margaret Peterson and Shirley Forpe as well as Board of Directors Member Carol Black went to Lurie Hospital fully equipped with Valentine card art supplies to meet with a number of eager patients.
Patients could choose to use colorful papers to cut and paste on cards, or use oil pastels, markers or make clay hearts. We met some great people. A couple with a sick child, a young boy who loved the oil pastels and a teenaged girl. Emma with her mom, Lisa, (pictured above) were among those who participated.
An additional 40 Heart Art Healing Kits (pictured here) were given to teen patients who were confined to their rooms
Art Helps Heal is a small all-volunteer charity so any donation you make to help us reach our goal will make a BIG difference in the purchase of art materials and developing new projects to provide meaningful art experiences to adolescent patients in eight Chicago hospitals and wards.
Our Teen Patient Advisor, Rosie Colucci. demonstrates two of our Art Healing Kits created and designed by Secretary/Treasurer Shirley Forpe.
It's an easy and fun way to raise money so we can continue to serve all eight children's hospitals in Chicago.
