EXPANDING OUR MISSION
Art Helps Heal is recognized by the United States Treasury IRS as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit whose mission it is to provide quality art materials and self-directed lessons, and project books along with a website for hospitalized teens.
Our Teen Patient Advisor, Rosie Colucci. demonstrates two of our Art Healing Kits created and designed by Secretary/Treasurer Shirley Forpe.
It's an easy and fun way to raise money so we can continue to serve all eight children's hospitals in Chicago.
We have expanded our mission to now include younger patients. A three year old recent immigrant learned the names of colors & shapes. She manipulated shapes to create patterns. A 5th grader who loves nature created a patterned frame & drew a sea turtle.
Art Helps Heal is a small all-volunteer charity so any donation you make to help us reach our goal will make a BIG difference in the purchase of art materials and developing new projects to provide meaningful art experiences to adolescent patients in eight Chicago hospitals and wards.
